We are still alive...sort of

As ALWAYS so much has been happening; Halloween, a birthday, playing in the leaves, Rhett's blessing day, first snow of the season, Thanksgiving, sickness, setting up Christmas decorations, good times, cute kids, etc...
Lots of pictures to enjoy. So ENJOY!
The brothers
The Rhett Man
we attempted to grow our own pumpkins this year... didn't go so great. We got 7 little decorative ones and only 1 big one. Well, there is always next year I guess. Here are Mav and Bri harvesting our 1 big pumpkin...
Isn't it a beauty?!?
Since growing our own didn't turn out so great, we went and bought some for family night and carved them.
The 2 buddies dressed up for Halloween
Although, on Saturday (the day of trick-or-treating) the boys decided to be super heroes instead.
This is as festive as we got this year for my mom's annual Halloween party...
The fun and delicious food
Back at our house ready to go trick-or-treating in the rain. Boo! We lovingly called Slater Captain Underpants. Silly little boy ;)
Trick-or-treating with neighborhood friends
The beautiful Halloween double rainbow. Something good had to come from the rain.
Mav started preschool on November 1st. He has loved every second! It has been really good for all of us.
The boys loved playing in the fall leaves
Rhett's Blessing Day!

Bri's side cousin picture.... yes, only 1 girl and 9 boys.
cousins: Nate 5 months, Trev 2 months, Rhett 4 weeks
Rhett 1 month old
Slater turned 2!!!!
Here is his dump truck cake. Yes, I took the easy route this birthday. Lots of other things going on.
Blowing out the candles
Grandma and Grandpa got Slater a chair just like Mav's. He was Thrilled!!!
He got some awesome gifts
And loved having his cousins here with him to celebrate.
Putting up the Christmas lights!
We braved the rigid temps and enjoyed the city's Christmas parade. We are remembering that it was only 18 degrees.... but we got lots of free stuff. And Mav thought it was awesome. His smile at seeing Santa made it all worth it.
This is the 1st time we have ever gotten Mav near Santa
Slater sat on his lap too, because Slater does whatever Maverick does. And there was candy involved.
Sickness: In the last month we have all battled a lousy stomach virus, a bad head cold, and Slater had a bad case of croup. Needless to say, we have done a lot of this...
We did get to enjoy the 1st snow...Slater wouldn't walk in it but he enjoyed throwing it at Mav and eating it
We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with my side of the family. We counted our blessings that we USUALLY enjoy better health than what we have recently been experiencing. And even though we have had one of the most trying years of our lives, we all have each other. We are so thankful to be a family. When we got home we set up our Christmas tree and took the traditional picture of Mav and daddy putting the tree top on.
The next day (between Dr. visits) we put up the rest of the decorations. I love the sparkle, magic, and spirit of the season it brings into our home. So Cozy.
Mav and Slater ... "Flying". So glad they are such good friends!
And last, but not least: cute baby Rhett has almost grown out of taking his bath in our tiny bathroom sink... Sadly I guess they do have to grow up. Such a sweet little guy!
I am sad that the fall season is gone. I LOVE the fall, and I am not much of a winter girl, but I am WAY excited for the Christmas season. Hopefully we can get healthy enough to enjoy some of the festivities. Happy Holidays to all!!!!

You look fabulous Brittany. What cute boys you have and they do grow up so fast. Molly is huge now and I don't know where the time has gone. We have all been sick too. Not fun! Hope you guys get better soon!
