Our 3 Year Old!

They grow so fast...

And (drum roll please)

...Our Sweet 3 year old!

We had the house all decorated, and the wrapped presents sitting out with his cake when he woke-up in the morning. He was ecstatic!! We had him open his presents (he had to play with each thing for a while before he could open the next one... not many 3 year olds do that.)

After he got his presents all opened, we went over to our pool and swam for about an hour. Mav loves to go swimming!

Then his grandma and grandpa came with his "big" present. a kitchen! Yes, a kitchen. And yes, it is man-ly. And yes, Maverick absolutely LOVES it! And they even made the adorable apron to go with it...

At 6:00 we went to the park (Mav calls it the "splash pad park") and had his party with family and friends. He LOVED playing in the water. Obviously...

Bri and I spent about 40 minutes making his cake the night before at 11:00 pm. But Mav thought it was awesome, so it was all worth it!! And it tasted good too!

And here he is opening his presents... He was really into it, and everyone gave him such fun and thoughtful things. He has totally been entertained. Everyone was so generous. THANK YOU! Although, he would have been just fine with your just coming to his party, but thanks for going the extra mile! He is spoiled! Thanks to all who came. Mav's Latest:

**He stands on "the stage" and plays the (imaginary) piano, the cello, the guitar, the drums, the harmonica, and the horn. and sings and dances. It is very cute.

**He loves to read and be read to. His made-up stories are very clever. He has quite the over-active imagination. We love watching it.

** He has a very contagious laugh, that he lets us hear a lot, but when he is sad all we have to do is pretend we are sad and he starts laughing too. He also has a supply of "happy faces" that he finds when he is sad and only sometimes they are "all gone". He is a pretty happy kid.

** He is a great helper: helps us water the flowers, helps Bri mow the lawn, helps "fix" things that are broken, helps vacuum, and cleans up his messes, he helps us make our bed and is even good at making his own. He loves to help.

*** Potty Training 101 is next for him. hopefully right after our DC trip. 3 year old poop is not our favorite... but when the kid doesn't even realize he has soiled himself, you can't REALLY push it. It will happen.

**He loves racing and parking cars, trains, tools, play dough, coloring, music, building towers, playing tag, ring-around-the-rosie, etc, etc...

** He is always pretty good to share, and other kids seem to love doing what he is doing. He will play with whatever is available no matter if it is gender appropriate or not... he just loves to play and imagine.

** He likes reading the Book of Mormon with us and when he says his prayers they are always very thoughtful and include lots of random stuff... He likes me to sing to him before he can go to sleep.

** He doesn't like taking naps anymore, he is usually "too busy" to eat, but he loves candy.

** He is a great big brother, and a sweet little boy who has his dads easy-going nature, and my "spirited" attitude that shines through every so often...
